Staying at Family Tides
We truly hope your stay at Family Tides leaves you with sweet memories and fun experiences. In order to provide each of our guests with a comfortable stay, we ask that you help us with the household responsibilities listed below when you check-in, during your stay and before you check-out. As always, please let Dave or Matt know if you have any questions or if you need any clarification.
Arrival
General Information
Upon arrival, you will find a set of keys on the kitchen counter. One key opens both the front and back door, and the other opens the door between the garage and hallway. Operating the key on the front and back doors is a little tricky. Check out this tutorial video if you need help using the key to lock and unlock the doors.
Matt will provide you with door codes for keyless entry at the front and back doors. Check out this tutorial video if you need help understanding how to use door codes for keyless entry.
Please be mindful of noise and late nights. We share a wall with our neighbor, Danielle, and her two toddler sons, Cash and Cruze; they also have a sweet French Bulldog named Jax. The toddlers' bedtime is usually early evening.
If you use all of something, please replace it before departure.
Garbage
Trash cans are located in all three bathrooms, in the garage and in the kitchen.
Trash bags are located in the pantry.
You'll find the kitchen trash cans inside the lower kitchen cabinet to the left of the sink. Please do not push down on the trash cans in the cabinet; they likely will not withstand too much pressure and could break. Instead, please remove the trash can from the cabinet and place it on the floor before pushing down or compacting the garbage inside.
Kitchen
Feel free to use any dishes, drinkware and small appliances you find in the kitchen or the pantry. After using any small appliances (air fryer, griddle, toaster, etc.), please clean it thoroughly and return it to the location where you found it.
The dining room table seats eight adults comfortably. To extend the leaf, pull the table at each end to reveal the leaf stored inside the middle. Lift the leaf gently and unfold it to its full width; then push the ends of the table back together until they meet the leaf. After use, please return the leaf to storage, and reset the table to its smaller configuration.
Extra dining chairs can be found in the guest bedrooms and the guest bedroom closets. After use, please return them to their original locations.
A propane grill is located in the garage, and you're welcome to use it. Grill tools are located in a stainless steel case in the pantry (on the middle shelf to the right, just under the light switch).
Entertainment
TV
All remotes for the living room (TV, ceiling fan, Apple TV, sound bar, and Amazon Fire TV) are located in the tray on the coffee table. We've logged into Apple+, Disney+, Peacock, and a few other streaming services for you to enjoy. Also, feel free to log into your own accounts if you'd like; just remember to log out when you leave. Enjoy!
WiFi & Technology
Feel free to connect your personal devices to our WiFi network. For the network name and password, contact Matt.
A Chromebook for guest use is available in the living room, and it connects automatically to our WiFi network. You may sign in with your Google account, or simply select 'Browse as Guest' from the login screen.
Games
Several board games and card games are located in the kitchen cabinet above the refrigerator. Feel free to use any of them, but please put them back where you found them when you're finished.
Pool & Beach
Waterfall's community pool is located at the entrance. You will need codes not only for the gate but also for the restrooms. Please contact Dave or Matt for these codes, and do not share them with anyone.
Beach towels are located in the large cabinet in the hall bathroom upstairs. Feel free to use them at the pool, or take them to the beach. If you lose or misplace one, please replace it before departure. Please do not take white bath towels to the pool or to the beach.
Bathrooms
There are two full bathrooms upstairs and a half bathroom downstairs.
Towels, wash cloths and bath mats are located in the large cabinet in the hallway bathroom upstairs.
You'll find a generous stock of toilet tissue on the bottom shelf of the large cabinet in the hallway bathroom upstairs.
All bathrooms are stocked with towels for guests to use. Towel hooks are located on each guest bedroom door for your convenience. Feel free to use them during your stay, but please do not leave wet or damp towels hanging on the hooks upon departure. (See departure notes below for guidance.)
Bidet attachments are provided in the half bathroom downstairs and in the master bathroom upstairs. When using a bidet, please be careful to ensure that each is completely turned off after use.
Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, loofas, toothpaste, toothbrushes can be found in the bathroom sink cabinet in the hallway bathroom upstairs.
Security Cameras
We've installed security cameras at the front door (Ring doorbell) and in the Living Room.
These cameras are the only tool we have to monitor the house remotely when it's unoccupied while we're at home in Colorado. For this reason, please do not attempt to adjust, cover or move either camera.
If you choose, you may unplug the camera in the living room, but it's very important that you plug it back in before you leave. The camera will power itself back on and reconnect to WiFi automatically after it's plugged back in. (The living room camera's small white power supply is plugged into the wall outlet to the left of the back door behind the sofa.)
Transportation
Beach Boys Shuttle is the main taxi service in Panama City Beach. Their rate schedule is reasonable, and their service is typically reliable. A shuttle from Family Tides to the closest beach access at the end of Alf Coleman Road averages $15 one-way for two passengers.
Uber and Lyft are also reliable options for shuttle service in Panama City Beach.

General Tasks
Close all blinds, with the exception of those at the top of the stairs.
Turn on the air conditioner using both the upstairs and downstairs thermostats, and set them to 78 degrees.
Empty all trash cans, and replace the liners with trash bags found in the pantry. Trash cans are located in the kitchen, in each of the three bathrooms and in the garage. On your way out, please take all trash bags to the dumpster located by the mailboxes on the left at Waterfall's main entrance.
Lock all doors, including the door that separates the garage and hallway.
Leave the keys on the kitchen counter, and lock the door you exit with the keyless entry code. (See this tutorial video for guidance if needed.)
Garage
If you have used the grill, please return it to the garage for security, and put the cover back on it. Also, ensure that the propane tank valve is tightened and turned off completely.
Please clean and return grill utensils to their case after use. Clean the grill grates thoroughly with the brush provided.
Ensure that the garage door is closed completely. Please do not leave household garbage in the garage.
Kitchen & Living Room
Return all kitchen appliances to the pantry in the spot where you found them.
Put all dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and start it. You do not need to wait for it to finish before leaving. Dishwasher pods are located in the cabinet under the kitchen sink.
Remove from the refrigerator any unused food that has the potential to spoil.
Please put all pillows, throw blankets and remotes back where you found them.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Lay out all damp/wet towels, and drape them flat (over doors, across flat surfaces, over the shower rod, etc.) so they don't spoil before they dry. See images below for guidance.
Check each bidet toilet attachment to ensure that it's turned off completely.
You do not need to strip bed linens or make the beds before leaving.
